Today, students from several year groups visited London South Bank University (LSBU) for a workshop focused on active listening and public speaking. The session was led by Rahi Alam, LSBU Students' Union President, who highlighted the importance of attentive listening, clear communication and practical ways to manage stage fright.
As part of the LSBU Group, learners regularly join workshops and events at the university. These experiences give them a genuine insight into university life and help them build skills that strengthen their learning and leadership potential.

Student Reflections
Mahalee, Year 9:
"Today’s trip to LSBU went really well. It was engaging and I liked being able to talk to someone who understands school councils and could answer all my questions. I am glad I improved my listening and understanding skills."
Janna, Year 12:
"The activity helped me see how I can support my peers if I become Head Girl. We joined exercises that developed our active listening and learned tips to manage nerves during public speaking, such as holding something firm if your hands tend to shake."
We look forward to providing more experiences like this throughout the year. These visits help learners grow in confidence and explore the opportunities available within the LSBU Group.
