
The Digital Media Technical Pathway is designed for creative students who enjoy producing digital content and working with media technologies. The course combines creativity with technical skills, giving students the opportunity to develop industry-relevant knowledge through hands-on projects.
Students will explore areas such as video production, digital graphics, media planning, and content creation, while building a portfolio of work to showcase their skills. Courses are available at Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3, allowing students to progress according to their experience and GCSE results.
This pathway provides strong preparation for further study, apprenticeships, or careers within the creative and media industries.

Is this course for you?
Studying Digital Media at SBUA Sixth Form can be your first step to a career in the creative industries, digital production or marketing. The Level 3 programme will prepare you for a range of related Higher Education courses or apprenticeships.
This course will widen your understanding of the current digital media industry and its techniques and practices. Practical in focus, you will have access to specialist equipment and resources including audio and video production, design and editing software.

What entry qualifications will you need?
For Level 1 and Level 2 courses, students should have GCSEs at Grades 2–4, including English and Maths. Level 3 courses require 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.
If you do have a Grade 3 in English or Maths, you will re-take this GCSE as part of your study programme.

Level 1 and 2 courses can lead to Level 3 Digital Media BTECs, while Level 3 courses can lead to university creative media degrees, higher apprenticeships, or employment in the creative industries with wide variety of roles in media, TV, online businesses, social media, marketing and much more.
