SBUA came together today for a whole-school assembly to mark Black History Month, led by our Head Boy, Promise, alongside members of the Black History Month Student Leadership Team.

We were delighted to welcome Sadiq (Sid) Adebiyi and Neil Tchamambe from the London Broncos, who joined students to share their experiences and talk about their journeys.

Students had the opportunity to hear from both players before taking part in a Q&A. The questions covered a wide range of topics, including their GCSEs, A Levels, university, qualifications and the steps they took to build their careers.

The conversation clearly struck a chord with students. Several stayed behind after the assembly to continue speaking with Sid and Neil, asking further questions about their experiences and how they had reached where they are today.

It was a valuable opportunity for students to listen, learn and engage directly with people whose experiences could help them think about their own futures.

A big thank you to Sid and Neil for taking the time to speak with our students, and to Promise and the Black History Month Student Leadership Team for leading the assembly.
