Students recently took part in an engaging STEM workshop delivered by King’s College London ambassadors, designed to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
Led by first-year university students Zara Bhatti and Safa Ahmed, the session gave learners a valuable insight into studying and pursuing pathways in STEM. Through sharing their own experiences, they helped make university and careers in the field feel more accessible and achievable.
The workshop focused on two key areas shaping the future of technology and design. In the first session, students explored Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D modelling, using Tinkercad to design their own ring. This hands-on activity allowed them to develop practical digital skills while understanding how design concepts are applied in real-world contexts.

The second part of the workshop shifted towards digital innovation, where students created their own app interfaces using Figma. Working from their own ideas, they designed and visualised how an app would look and function, encouraging creativity, problem-solving and user-focused thinking.

Throughout the session, students showed strong engagement, curiosity and a willingness to experiment with new tools and ideas.
Experiences like this play an important role in opening up pathways into STEM, helping students build confidence and see how their ideas can translate into real-world innovation.
