SBUA’s Sixth Form football team delivered an outstanding performance at a recent tournament, finishing as impressive runners-up after a day of highly competitive football.
Facing strong opposition from the outset, the team displayed excellent determination, teamwork and resilience. Their organised play and consistent effort saw them progress confidently through the group stages and knockout rounds, earning a well-deserved place in the final.
The final proved to be a thrilling and closely fought contest. Both sides battled intensely, with the match ending 3–3 after full time in an exciting display of attacking football. With no winner decided in regulation time, the outcome was settled by a penalty shootout. Despite their efforts, the team were narrowly defeated, finishing second overall.
Although just missing out on the title, the team’s achievement in reaching the final is a testament to their hard work and commitment. They demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and unity throughout the tournament, representing South Bank University Academy with pride.
A fantastic effort and a performance that reflects great promise for the future.
