A dedicated team of sixth formers at SBUA achieved an outstanding second-place finish in the CoppaFeel! Challenge, a national competition focused on raising awareness about breast cancer in young people. The team included Favour, Promise, Sabrinna, Lauren and Abdullahi.

The challenge required teams to design and deliver a full promotional campaign that encouraged others to understand the signs of breast cancer and feel confident checking themselves regularly. Favour, who led the SBUA team, shared how meaningful the experience felt.

“It was really rewarding knowing that we were making a difference within our community,” she said. “During the challenge week, we went round the sixth form educating as many people as we could on breast cancer. Outside of school, we also educated others. The experience was amazing.”

The team spent the week speaking to peers, sharing information, and building confidence in public engagement. Favour explained that taking on a leadership role was a personal milestone.

“It built up my confidence to speak to people I normally wouldn’t,” she said. “I was really happy when we got second place because we put in a lot of hard work.”

Finishing as runners-up in a national competition is a brilliant achievement and reflects the commitment, teamwork and drive shown throughout the campaign.

This result is a reminder of what can be achieved when young people take the lead, use their voices and work together to create positive change.
