Movie night at Sixth Form common room

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Sixth Form brought a little extra warmth and community spirit to the week with two student-led moments celebrating friendship and togetherness.

Yesterday, students gathered for a relaxed Sixth Form Movie Night, complete with snacks and a chance to unwind after a busy stretch of lessons. Laughter, shared snacks and a good film created an easy, welcoming atmosphere.

Today, a light-hearted Confession Box added another feel-good moment. Students shared anonymous messages with friends, from “thank you for always supporting me” to simple notes of appreciation that genuinely brightened someone’s day. One student shared, “It made me smile more than I expected.” The focus was entirely on kindness, encouragement and recognising the value of friendship.

Moments like these reflect the spirit of the Sixth Form community: ambitious and focused, but equally supportive and connected. Alongside preparing for university, apprenticeships and future careers, students are building friendships and memories that will stay with them long after they leave.

For those considering sixth form, it is a place where academic goals are taken seriously, but where community, belonging and shared experiences matter just as much.
