T Levels Week, taking place from 19 to 23 October 2026, shines a spotlight on technical education and the opportunities it creates for young people. At South Bank University Academy (SBUA), we're marking the week by showcasing the experiences of students studying our three T Level courses: Marketing, Digital Software Development, and Media, Broadcast and Production.
T Levels are two-year qualifications for students aged 16 to 19, combining classroom learning with an industry placement. Developed with employers, they help students build technical knowledge, gain practical experience and prepare for their next steps into employment, higher education or further training.
Bringing learning to life
T Levels offer students the opportunity to develop skills in a chosen industry while applying what they learn to practical tasks and projects.
Whether it's exploring how brands connect with audiences, developing digital solutions or learning to operate a camera and frame a shot, each course gives students a different way to discover their interests and build their skills.
To mark T Levels Week, we've produced three videos featuring our students sharing their experiences in their own words. From what they've learnt so far to the parts of their courses they enjoy most, the videos offer a glimpse into what studying a T Level at SBUA is like.
Meet our T Level students
T Level Marketing
Marketing involves more than advertising. Students explore how brands communicate, understand their audiences and develop campaigns. The course combines creative thinking with research, planning and an understanding of how marketing works in practice.
Watch our students share their experience of T Level Marketing.
T Level Digital Software Development
Digital Software Development introduces students to the process behind building digital products and solutions. Through coding, testing and problem-solving, students learn to develop ideas, work through challenges and understand how technology can be used to solve problems.
Watch our students talk about learning to develop digital solutions.
T Level Media, Broadcast and Production
From operating a camera to experimenting with angles and framing shots, students begin to develop the practical skills involved in media production. The course offers an insight into the techniques and processes behind the videos and content we see every day.
Watch our student share what she's learnt behind the camera.
Skills for the next step
A key part of a T Level is its industry placement, which gives students the opportunity to apply their learning in a workplace and gain experience in their chosen sector. Alongside their technical knowledge, students can develop transferable skills such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving.
These experiences can help students make more informed decisions about their futures, whether they plan to progress to university, pursue an apprenticeship or move into employment.
T Levels Week is an opportunity to recognise the value of technical education and the people who bring it to life. At SBUA, we're proud to support students as they develop their skills, explore their ambitions and prepare for the opportunities ahead.
