Gold silver and bronze winners

Congratulations to the Year 8 students who recently took part in the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Junior Maths Challenge, achieving an impressive set of results against students competing nationally.

Students were awarded:

  • 🥇 Gold – Habeeb
  • 🥈 Silver – Semilore and Abdulquadri
  • 🥉 Bronze – Miah and Matvii

A special congratulations goes to Habeeb, who achieved the school’s first ever Gold award in the Year 8 challenge and has also received an automatic invitation to participate in the Junior Kangaroo competition, a prestigious follow-on round for high-performing students nationwide.

The achievement was made even more meaningful by the progress students reflected on from previous years. Having improved from Silver to Gold, Habeeb spoke positively about seeing his hard work pay off, while Semilore shared his encouragement for others to “keep trying and not give up” after progressing from Bronze to Silver.

The UKMT Junior Maths Challenge is designed to promote mathematical reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving, encouraging students to apply their knowledge in creative and analytical ways.

These results are a fantastic reflection of the ambition, resilience and dedication shown by students, as well as the continued focus on encouraging students to challenge themselves academically and compete at the highest level.
