The Transition 2–3 Programme is a one-year pathway designed for students who need additional support before progressing onto Level 3 study. It focuses on building core academic skills, confidence, and independence in a structured and supportive learning environment.
This programme helps you strengthen your English, Maths, and study skills while introducing you to vocational subject areas and future progression routes.
It is ideal for students who:
- Do not yet have a Grade 4 or above in English and/or Maths
- Need more time to develop confidence, maturity and study skills
- Want a clear route into a T Level or similar Level 3 qualification
Course Study
- Maths and English
- Students with a Grade 3 will resit GCSE Maths and/or English
- Students below Grade 3 will follow Functional Skills, progressing from Level 1 to Level 2

Is this course for you?
This is for students who have not yet achieved Grade 4 in English or Maths and need to meet entry requirements for Level 3 study.

How will you be assessed?
You will be assessed through final exams, supported by ongoing coursework, classwork, and revision activities throughout the year.

Where can this course take you?
Passing these resits allows you to progress to Level 3 BTEC courses, T Levels, or A Levels, and ensures eligibility for employment or apprenticeships.
